mechanical binding
When it comes to mechanical binding production, there are several ways to go from printed material to a fully-bound book. However, not all of them are efficient for all applications. The production method needs to match the complexity and quantity of the project. At Eckhart, we understand that mechanical binding projects come in all different shapes and sizes. To truly be a single source for all things mechanical binding, we must be equipped to handle any project that comes out way.
plastic coil
Plastic coil allows books to lay flat, but with a “step-up” that hinders the appearance of crossover images. One advantage of the plastic coil is its strength. The plastic element resists crushing, making it suitable for high abuse applications.
wire-0
The flexibility and versatility of Wire-O binding make it an ideal solution for a wide range of projects. Wire-O bound books will lay perfectly flat and fold 360 degrees for single-hand use. This allows cross overs to line up perfectly.
cased in wire-o
A perfect mix of elegant and sturdy, cased in Wire-O is an excellent solution for projects that need to look elegant but remain functional. We’ll make your case, collate the text and case all in house and on time.
spiral wire
Spiral wire binding is a similar style to plastic coil but with a metal filament. Like plastic coil, spiral-bound books also step up when opened making them not ideal for lining up crossovers.
